12. About this website
- Enquiry forms. When you send an enquiry, your message is stored securely in our website system and emailed to our team so that we can reply. We also record how you found the website (for example a search engine, a social media post or a link from another site) so that we know which channels work. We keep enquiries only as long as we need them to respond and to arrange tuition.
- Tutor applications. If you apply to join our team, your details and CV are stored privately in our website system. CVs are never placed in a public folder and can only be opened by authorised administrators. The notification email we receive contains a link to the application, not your CV. We use your application only to assess it and to contact you, and keep it in line with section 7 above.
- Visitor statistics. We count visits with our own privacy-friendly statistics, which do not use cookies and do not store your IP address. Each visit is given a short anonymous code that changes every day, so we cannot follow you from one day to the next. We record the page viewed, the website or campaign link that brought you here, your device type, browser language and an approximate country (worked out from your device’s time zone), and whether you tapped a contact button such as WhatsApp or email. Visits by our own staff are not counted, and nothing is recorded if your browser sends a “Do Not Track” or “Global Privacy Control” signal. These statistics are kept for 13 months and then deleted automatically.
- Spam protection. Our forms may use Cloudflare Turnstile to check that a real person is sending them. Cloudflare receives technical information about your browser for this check only.
- Videos. The short video at the top of the homepage is played from YouTube in its privacy-enhanced mode (youtube-nocookie.com). YouTube receives your IP address and device information when the video loads, as with any embedded content. Other YouTube or Vimeo videos on the site only load when you choose to play them.
- Browser storage. If you close the message bar at the top of the page, your browser remembers this so it is not shown again. This stays on your device and is not sent to us.
- Messaging apps. If you contact us through WhatsApp, Line, Instagram or Facebook, that service handles your message under its own privacy policy.
If we add other tools to this website, such as advertising or analytics services that use cookies, we will update this section and ask for your consent first where the law requires it.
