Why Teachwise

Why do parents choose Teachwise?

When parents choose Teachwise, they are trusting us with their child’s education. We never take that lightly.

Carefully selected teachers

We use our international teaching network to bring together qualified teachers, experienced tutors and subject specialists. We never recruit just to fill a timetable: we look for people who know their subject and the curriculum, and genuinely care about the students they teach.

Teachers who keep learning

Our tutors meet every month for professional development, sharing best practice and learning from one another, so every lesson meets the standard our families expect.

The right match for your child

Before we recommend a tutor, we assess your child and speak with you about their needs. Then we match them with someone who has the right experience, knowledge and approach.

Recommended by partner schools

We are proud to be recommended to families by our partner schools. Their trust reflects the quality and professionalism we work hard to maintain.

Parents choose Teachwise because they know their child will be taught by someone experienced and carefully selected, supported by a team that stays involved throughout their learning journey.

Teachwise founders Josh and Steph

Our story

Started by two international school teachers

Joshua and Stephanie honed their craft at some of the world’s leading international schools. When teaching moved online, they saw children thrive at home, and built closer, more collaborative relationships with parents.

Teachwise grew from that insight: personal, tailored lessons, with a supportive network of parents and schools around every student.

Deciding

What parents want to know before choosing a tutor.

How much do lessons cost?

Prices vary by subject. Small-group lessons (up to 4 students) start from £30 an hour, and one-to-one lessons are from £50 an hour. Every course includes a pre-assessment, recordings of your lessons, homework and written feedback.

Are your tutors safeguarding-checked?

Yes. Every tutor is DBS / child-protection checked and recruited under our Safer Recruitment Policy.

Do you work with schools?

Yes. Through our Hybrid programme we partner with international schools to deliver subjects and enrichment programmes. Schools can find out more under Hybrid in the menu.

Your first lesson

How we get your child started.

Can we try before committing?

Yes. Your child can join a free group class, and your first one-to-one lesson is half price. Tell us about your child and we’ll suggest where to start.

Which platform do you use?

An interactive online classroom with a shared whiteboard. We help you set it up before the first lesson.

Week to week

How lessons fit around family life.

How long is each lesson?

It depends on your child’s age and what they need. We’ll suggest a lesson length when we talk.

Can you teach in my time zone?

Our tutors are based across the UK and Asia, so we can usually find times that suit families in Asia, Europe and the Middle East.
